The Continuing Education Center at Al-Ameed University held a scientific workshop titled "Analyzing Research Performance in Global Databases (SciVal) and International Rankings." The workshop was presented by the Director of the Quality and University Performance Department at Dhi Qar University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Bader Roomi, and attended by several directors of scientific and administrative departments, faculty, and staff of the university.
The workshop covered the mechanisms for analyzing the research performance of universities and academic institutions using the SciVal database, the most important global indicators adopted in international rankings, as well as how to improve the quality of scientific research and increase the effectiveness of academic publishing in reputable international journals.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Bader Roomi met with the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Maytham Hameed Al-Qanbar. He was honored for his effective participation in the workshop's success and his visit to Al-Ameed University, in the presence of the Director of the Continuing Education Center, Dr. Haider Al-Araji.
In a statement, Dr. Haider Al-Araji explained that "holding such workshops comes within the Continuing Education Center's plan to promote a culture of scientific research and develop the competencies of faculty and administrative staff at Al-Ameed University, in line with the university's orientations toward academic excellence and entry into global rankings." He noted that the center seeks to open horizons for scientific cooperation with Iraqi and international universities to exchange expertise and achieve sustainable development in university performance.
